FCORL (SA) 2015 Head & Neck outreach Fellowship (University of Alberta) 2016 IFNOS Global Online Fellowship 2019 Dr Lisa Burnell is a specialist in ENT (otorhinolaryngology) and head & neck surgery, based at Morningside Mediclinic in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. She works alongside Dr Adzatia with their in-house audiologist, Tanith Van Wyk, they provide a comprehensive approach to ENT related problems (both paediatric and adult). Furthermore the practice is a part of the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Team at Morningside Mediclinic. She treats all aspects of ENT related complaints but is particularly passionate about head and neck oncology and rehabilitation. ENT conditions treated in the practice include:

Dr Lisa Burnell completed her MBChB at the University of Cape Town in 2004. Internship and Community Service were completed at Tambo Memorial Hospital. Following that she spent a number of years training in general surgery before finding her passion for ENT, therefore having a well-rounded understanding of surgical pathology. She qualified as an ENT surgeon in 2015 and worked in state at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital as a specialist consultant until 2018.
Her post graduate studies include:
1. Fellowship in head & neck surgery at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in 2016 (International Head & Neck Surgery Outreach Program). This training included hands on participation in head and neck oncological surgeries and reconstructions as well as participation in multidisciplinaryclinics (radiation and medical oncology, maxillofacial rehabilitation and prosthodontics)
2. The International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies’ (IFHNOS) Global online Fellowship. She spent her observership at Groote Schuur Hospital (Cape Town) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital (New York).
She is the secretary for the International Society for Maxillofacial Rehabilitation Society (ISMR) - a society dedicated to international multidisciplinary education on rehabilitation related to head and neck surgery. Website: https://www.ismr-org.com
